Many cities around the United States participate in a similar program as Seattle, “one city, one book” where everyone in the city reads the same book.  Often the author then comes to visit the program and multiple book chats and groups occur for the readers to share their thoughts on what they read.  This year, Lawrence Kansas did a similar program with kids!  While the adults read Winter’s Bone, the children read The Cabinet of Wonders by Marie Rutkoski.  Do you think a parallel kids program would be successful in Seattle?  What about in your local library?  What are some books you think would be good for this?

Check out the Lawrence library web page for more information.
