Happy Cinco de Mayo all! My name is Meredith- I’m a first year residential student in the MLIS program, and am the new publicity officer for iYouth! I am interested in youth librarianship on an international level as well as on a domestic community level.

Not only was Cinco de Mayo yesterday, but April 30th was the culmination of Dia de los ninos which emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds. A great way to accomplish this is to stock your library (or your house) with bilingual picture books.  This will introduce new languages and cultures to children at early ages, bilingual picture books a great for children from bilingual families, and for kids and adults alike learning new languages.

Below are a few Spanish/English bilingual picture books that you can explore!
